Simulation against pollution in the Port of Malaga

With the participation of Oil Distribution Terminals (ODT), a company belonging to the Buran Energy Group, on May 27 a marine pollution simulation was carried out in the Port of Malaga.

The exercise, organized and coordinated by the Malaga Port Authority, the Spanish Navy, the Malaga Maritime Captaincy and other Administrations, simulated the collision between a fishing vessel and the Tagomago P-22 patrol boat, producing a massive fuel spill in the first one that activated the Maritime Interior Plan of the port. Due to this, it was necessary to close the port with anti-pollution barriers between ends, until, finally, the discharge is controlled and collected.
